JG Touche' Foundation provides Vocational Rehabilitation Career Camp services, whereupon completion students will exhibit the appropriate skills and behaviors necessary to search, secure and maintain employment in any area(s) of his/her choice. Students will also be equipped with the knowledge and understanding of effectively communicating their strengths, abilities, interests, and needs as necessary for interviewing with potential employees as well as seeking out and applying for post-secondary educational options. Students will understand the process of exploring career and educational options, and they will demonstrate the knowledge of how to apply and secure financial aid assistance for furthering their education.
Students will have firsthand experience with the everyday functions and operations of college campuses and local worksite locations. Students will have the opportunity to identify their skills and interests and develop a solid goal plan through the developing and completion of Vision boards, and Past, Present and Future, “Who Am I”? power points. Students will understand banking and financial responsibilities through a presentation and banking activities provided by a local credit union/banking institution. Students will understand becoming an entrepreneur and or small business owner. Participants will experience MOCK interviews, and each student will complete a resume and cover letter to begin or add to his/her professional portfolio.
